While in Architecture school, I could improve my analytical skills, attention to detail, and how to create user-centric spaces. I dedicated my time to building blueprints and creating spaces that sparked people's imagination, but once I came across the term "UX/UI Design", it immediately piqued my interest. Recognizing that there were common threads between the two disciplines, I embarked on a self-taught journey to become a UX/UI designer.
Outside my work experience, I was a taikoΒ (Japanese drums) group leader for many years. When I first started as a taiko leader, I thought it was all about barking orders and being strict, but then I learned that it's all about listening, motivating, engaging and leading by example. Being a taiko drum group leader made me realize that communication and collaboration are essential to working well with cross-functional teams and enabling a positive work environment.
